Dear Friends,

From the 2nd of June to the 21st of June, across three west London venues, LP4Y trustees and volunteers will be hosting dinners and garden parties in support of professional training centers for young women in Lebanon.

In Lebanon today, 42% of the total population is below the age of 24. However, with the country suffering multiple social and economic crisis, unemployment in young people more than doubled within the three past years, rising from 23% in 2019 to 48% in 2022. This has also contributed to a rise in poverty and extreme vulnerability, affecting young women in particular.

This is why in 2021, LP4Y created two professional training centers in Lebanon focused on alleviating the issues faced by disadvantaged young women:  one training and development center located in Bourj Hammoud, Beirut and one Green Village, in Sourat, North Lebanon, to help them find employment, gain financial autonomy and build the future they want and deserve.

Since 2021, we have helped 304 young women through our programmes and achieved an overall 60% professional and social integration rate.

LP4Y's ambition in the coming years is to become an expert of Youth inclusion in the region, increase the integration rate for young women to stable employment and make our Green Village more ecological and sustainable.

Our goal with this initiative is to rally support for the cause of young women in Lebanon and to raise £15,000 to fund all training costs for 1 group of 15 youths in the Green Village in Sourat.
